Rescue Me ID: 14-10-27-00755Missy (female)

Border Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Missy is undeniably gorgeous and such an angel. She was born in December, 2011. She currently weighs 15 pounds. Her blonde and tan coat is so soft that you will want to pet her all day long and she will gladly let you. If you look closely, you can see her under bite, which is one of her numerous irresistible features. Her personality is certainly another desirable trait. She is very laid back, lovable and social. Missy and her brother, Teddy, were dumped in a neighborhood and a very good samaritan saved them from getting hit by a car. The pair were brought immediately to the veterinarian for a checkup and found to be in great health, ... (Read More)although their long, tangled locks had obviously been neglected for quite some time. Now that they have been groomed and cleaned up, you can see those adorable deep brown eyes too. Missy will roll over on her back for a good belly rub on your first meeting with her. Missy has beautiful, delicate, sensitive skin beneath her fur. A soft, gentle grooming now and then will keep her in tip top shape. Although, both dogs are sweet and social, Missy would rather stay close to her favorite people than play with her toys. Treats are always a hit with this lovely lady! Get the batteries charged up in your camera because if you adopt Missy, you are going to want to take hundreds of pictures of her. If Missy is the girl of your dreams, come see her today because she's too cute to stay with us for long. Missy's adoption fee is $150.00. If you are interested in adopting Missy please submit an adoption application online at www.corridorrescue.org under the More Information tab. If you have any questions, please email corridorrescueadopt@gmail.com Thanks! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-12-00434Ginger (female)

Border Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Ginger is about one year old as of October 2014. She and her four puppies have been in my care since July 2014, when I received her and the litter from an animal hoarder. She was covered in fleas and ticks, and had very thin hair. She is much prettier now, with a thick reddish coat. Her heartworms are being treated with monthly Tri Heart. Her temperament is classic Border Terrier, (from what I've read) though she is taller than standard BT, 15 inches at the shoulder. She is fixated on squirrels and will race blindly after them. She even lunged at a porcupine (first I've ever seen!) and got a painful nose full of quills. She is house ... (Read More)trained, will sit and come. She walks well on a leash, but pulls and I am training her to walk better. She is very comfortable in her crate, and willingly enters it when given the command: 'Kennel.' She always goes in her kennel when we leave the house. Ginger is a very active dog, and needs a lot of exercise and toys. A home with a fenced yard is best. If she can't go outside or find her toys, she'll begin to gnaw on whatever is handy, especially socks. However, she absolutely adores her toys and prefers them over anything else. She will take her toys outside and attempt to bury them, which is annoying. She doesn't bark excessively, but she does indeed bark at voices over the backyard fence, loud trucks or barking in the neighborhood. You can meet Ginger in south Austin, TX. My adoption fee is only requested to defray the cost of her spay surgery. Thanks for reading! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-10-00616Lil Man (male)

Border Terrier Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Lil Man is playful, friendly and learns fast. He is a little head-strong, so he would do well with an older female and should have training to continue his growth. He should stay socialized with other dogs/cats and people of all types. He is an unknown mix, but has cattle dog markings underneath and is shorter legged. Lil Man also has a naturally docked tail. His sister looked very Boston Terrier, so that may be part of his lineage. There is probably some bully breed in him also. Lil Man's adoption fee covers his shots, rabies, neutering and chip.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Terrier in Texas
Border Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. Border Terriers are spunky, lively little dogs. They are eager to please and very friendly. Border Terriers get along with children, other dogs, and will do okay with cats if they are raised alongside them from the time they are puppies. Border Terriers cannot be trusted with other small animals or unfamiliar cats. Border Terriers need a lot of attention and should not be left alone for long periods of time. If they need to be left alone during the day, it is helpful to have two Border Terriers, especially if one is male and one female. Fences should be reinforced at the base because Border Terriers are enthusiastic diggers. Border Terriers do fine living in an apartment or somewhere with a small yard, as long as they get enough exercise.
