Rescue Me ID: 15-04-01-00139Bonnie (female)
I pulled a very pregnant Bonnie from a high kill shelter at 6:00PM and she began giving birth at 9:00PM. She had 5 females and 3 males and all was well. She was such a good mommy, then at 3 weeks of age, the puppies came down with distemper from the shelter Bonnie had been in and she lost all but one puppy. She did a good job raising her puppy, who found her home. Now Bonnie needs her forever home. She is a very good girl. She is crate trained and house broke. She rides great in the car and walks good on a leash. She would do best with a male friend with energy cause she loves to run and play with another dog so a fenced yard would be needed. She really enjoys toys and nylon bones. She loves attention and getting hugs. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-29-00461Captain (male)
Hi there! You can call me Captain or Oh Captain My Captain! I'll answer your call even if I'm in another room because I love my humans. My favorite things to do are romping, galumphing (that's the best way to describe how I look when I play fetch), napping, kissing, tussling, rolling, and of course cuddling and 'spooning' with either a human or another dog. I get along great with my foster sister even when she mouths my face and licks inside my ears. We like to run and roll around and pretend-growl together until we're tired out, and then we just lie around for hours. I would do well in a home with another dog, but I'm good by myself, too. I am very good at doing my business outside, and I'm easy to lead on a leash. I do need to get better at sharing the sidewalk; right now I tense up when unfamiliar dogs and people come right up to me. I have gotten used to staying in a crate while my foster mom works. I prefer to sleep in the open at night, but I can also sleep soundly in a crate. You will need to make sure I understand which things are chewies and which things are not good for chewing, but you can crate me when you are out of the house while I am still learning. Just be aware that I'm gonna sproing out at you and cover you with kisses when you get back! (My foster mom and I have been doing kiss practice to make my kissing more polite.) What else? You have to get to know me to see all the cute stuff I do. Like when I slither, or when my mouth doesn't close all the way because of my underbite and I do a funny grin. I just know you'll love having me as a family member. If you take me home, I'll show you! Captain is a Shih Tzu/Terrier mix who is around 1 yr old and about 15 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that haven't had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center at our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application, and if approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come get the dog and bring them home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vaccinated. NOTE: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership, K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted and altered. ADOPTION FEE: $200 (includes spay/neuter, shots, microchip, medicines and other medical procedures, if necessary) ADOPTION CENTER: 2409 Montrose Avenue (near Fairview), Houston, TX 77006 HOURS: Saturdays 10 AM - 6 PM and Sundays 11 AM - 3:30 PM Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. |Rescue Me ID: 15-02-06-00472Sammy Sosa (male)|
Sammy Sosa is about 2-3 years old. He is a medium sized (40 lbs) terrier mix male dog. He is very sweet and friendly but can be shy at first. Once he knows his human handlers and family he is very affectionate. Because he is shy at first it is not a good idea to have him around young children that could scare him. He is a healthy beautiful dog ready for adoption. He is great with other dogs too. email: firstname.lastname@example.org for an application

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-10-00616Lil Man ** Handsome** (male)
Lil Man is playful, friendly and learns fast. He is very lovable and responds to my commands. He loves to play, but loves to snuggle on the sofa too. He is a talker and almost has a conversation when he is trying to convince you of what he wants to do. He does the cutest things with those ears and his expressions just make you want to melt. You would not imagine this baby was found with 5 of his siblings, dump in a park. They were left in a cat carrier, covered in bug bites and almost dead. He has a super cute personality. LilMan is very smart and playful. I have brought in a trainer to start working on obedience. He is currently around other dogs of all sizes and sexes, as well as cats. He will chase the cats, but it's really out of play and not to harm them. We are working on this. He should stay socialized with other dogs/cats and people of all types. He is an unknown mix, but has cattle dog markings underneath and is shorter legged. Lil Man also has a naturally docked tail. His sister looked very Boston Terrier, so that may be part of his lineage. Lil Man's adoption fee covers his shots, rabies, neutering and chip. Lil Man is available for adoption out of state, with adopter paying transportation fees. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-13-00307Freya (female)
Freya was dumped by our rescue. She is now part of the pack, freshly spayed and vaccinated and a great young dog with high energy and the love of play. She has two buddies here that she plays with and needs stimulation either with a puppy buddy or human playmate. Freya is a bit on the dominant side and gets along well with dogs and cats but prefers to get her way. She is a tiny bundle of energy.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Terrier in Texas
Border Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. Border Terriers are spunky, lively little dogs. They are eager to please and very friendly. Border Terriers get along with children, other dogs, and will do okay with cats if they are raised alongside them from the time they are puppies. Border Terriers cannot be trusted with other small animals or unfamiliar cats. Border Terriers need a lot of attention and should not be left alone for long periods of time. If they need to be left alone during the day, it is helpful to have two Border Terriers, especially if one is male and one female. Fences should be reinforced at the base because Border Terriers are enthusiastic diggers. Border Terriers do fine living in an apartment or somewhere with a small yard, as long as they get enough exercise.
