Rescue Me ID: 16-09-01-00415Sprout (male)

Border Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi Everyone! I'm a 1 year old Male Brussels Griffon Mix, and my name is Sprout! I'm a wiggly, happy little guy who likes to bounce and play! I also love snuggles and romping around in the grass. My foster mom says I'm a really nice house guest. I'm still a puppy so I'm working on my house manners, but I'm a quick learner. And what I lack in grown-up doggy skills, I make up for in kisses and waggly tails and glee! I walk on a leash like a champ, is calm and friendly with everyone I meet and is the easiest foster she's ever had. I'm getting the hang of potty training and know I will get it down in no time! People are my favorite - I ... (Read More)love all of them! I really just want to be your best friend. Are you playing the piano? I'll play too! Watching a movie? Make room for me! I like to think that I add to any experience, really. But don't worry, I'm not clingy. If you look like you're busy, I don't mind keeping myself entertained. I'll hop around the house on my own, and if you have a doggy or kitty to play with at your house, I'll happily join in the fun. I don't know how I ended up in the shelter, but I do know that I can make the best of any situation. I'm so happy and cuddly, it's hard not to smile around me. I promise if you bring me home with you, I'll make your life a little brighter too. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. Border Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello, my name is Shady! I am looking for a calm and quiet forever home. I would prefer a home without children or cats, and ideally with 1 or 2 adults. I get along with some dogs, but not all. I am an independent dog and need a family that will be patient with me. I need time to adjust to a new environment with new people. I am good at communicating when I am uncomfortable. I do not like being physcally forced to do anything. If you verbally ask me to do something, I will usually abide. I am both house trained and crate trained and will go into my kennel on command. My kennel is my safe haven and is where I like to go when I need some ... (Read More)alone time. I do enjoy cuddling on the couch and tummy/ back rubs, but please allow me to initiate these interactions once I'm comfortable with you. I also like playing with my toys and I will never chew on any of your belongings. If you interested in giving me a chance to join your family please fill out an adoption application on forgottendogs.org/adopt/application or if you have any questions, please contact my foster mom at sccoperude@outlook.com. Border Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

McGruff hasn't been with K9 Angels long, but is already a blessing to us! After a long bath and some cuddles he was able to relax and show how kind hearted he is. His favorite place to be is right in your lap. He just curls up and falls asleep. His fur may look scruffy but he is so soft to pet and the way he looks at you, just begging to be loved makes any heart melt! He is a very well behaved dog too with no accidents inside and is great with other dogs. He would be the perfect addition any home! We will update his bio as we get to know him better.     Hello everyone. My name is Heffie. My Foster Momma also calls me cuteness so I must be pretty cute! I love chasing my human brother around the house and stealing his socks from him. It's SO much fun when he runs after me! I'm a puppy so I am working on my potty manners. One of my other favorite things to do is to snuggle up with my Foster Momma and sleep. Rescue Me ID: 16-06-17-00442Fleetwood (male)

Border Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Greetings! My name is Fleetwood (my foster parents usually call me 'Big Mac' or 'Little Man'), and I'm very pleased to meet you! Now you may be thinking 'Fleetwood is an old man,' because I do not have the face of a young dog. But I assure you I am just a cute, sweet 7-month-old puppy who happens to look like an old man. Really! I'm the perfect age! It's hard to believe that not too long ago I was living on the street. I had no home and no one to love or who loved me. My luck turned when I crossed paths with a K-9 Angel volunteer, who scooped me up and whisked me away to my foster home. I LOVE having a foster home and a foster family! This ... (Read More)is what they think my REAL family (the one who hasn't found me yet) would want to know about me. Even though I'm a low-rider, I can get in and out of the doggy door - I learned it on the first day, and my foster family was very impressed by how smart I am! I use the doggy door to go outside and bask in the sun - I really love lying in the grass on a sunny day! I also quickly learned to use the doggy door when I have to go poo poo/pee pee. That means I get free roam with my foster's own dogs when foster mom and dad are away at work. When there is another foster puppy staying with us, I love to play - tug of war with a rope is super fun! I also love to play chase, and you won't believe how fast these short little legs can run! I'm also OK just relaxing with the older pups or playing by myself with one of my many toys, antlers and old slippers. And did I mention that I love to play fetch with a tennis ball? I'm almost a world champion! I like to lie down in my crate when I'm tired - foster mom leaves the door open for me, so I can go in whenever I want to take a nap. I also love to sit real close to you when we watch TV, and I sit very patiently while foster mom makes my breakfast and dinner and when it's time for a treat. Foster mom lets me sleep in her bed when foster dad travels; as much as I like him, I love it when he goes away! I snuggle up real close to foster mom, and I don't move the whole night till it's time to get up for breakfast. I can't wait to have my very own family to love! It would be great to have a furry sister or brother, or even a human brother or sister age 6 or older. Would you like to meet me? I'd sure love to meet you and see if we have a love connection! Please come to the K-9 Angels Adoption Center this weekend, ask for Fleetwood, and watch the sparks fly! Fleetwood is a Male Basset Hound / Terrier Mix that we estimate to be born around January 12, 2016. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Terrier in Texas
Border Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. Border Terriers are spunky, lively little dogs. They are eager to please and very friendly. Border Terriers get along with children, other dogs, and will do okay with cats if they are raised alongside them from the time they are puppies. Border Terriers cannot be trusted with other small animals or unfamiliar cats. Border Terriers need a lot of attention and should not be left alone for long periods of time. If they need to be left alone during the day, it is helpful to have two Border Terriers, especially if one is male and one female. Fences should be reinforced at the base because Border Terriers are enthusiastic diggers. Border Terriers do fine living in an apartment or somewhere with a small yard, as long as they get enough exercise.

lnteresting Border Terrier Trivia Low-Cost Texas Spay & Neuter Clinics
Border Terriers come from the Cheviot Hills along the border of England and Scotland. Border Terriers were first bred to capture and kill foxes in their dens. Border Terriers can run exceptionally fast for their size and can even keep up with a horse. Border Terriers make good watchdogs.
