Then a nice couple from Louisiana picked me up and took me home. I had a collar but no tags. They wanted to keep me but one of their dogs did not like me at all -- don't know why; I'm cute as a button! They took me to an animal emergency clinic to see if I had a micro chip but I didn't. Luckily a nice couple was there who foster for K-9 Angels and agreed to help me find a forever home! I am sure I will love my new home. I love every single person and dog I meet. I go outside to potty when you remind me, but if you forget I will piddle on the floor. Then again I'm just a baby and I really want to please you so I will learn this really fast. I love to cuddle and I will sleep in a crate or bathroom all night. I have so much puppy love to offer. Are you my forever family? I can't wait to meet you! Hi, I'm Little Debbie. I'm brown and white like an oatmeal cream pie, and just as sweet as one, too! I'm wholesome and down-to-earth. I'm up for anything you want to do: Car ride? Love it. Walk? Let's go! Explore the backyard or park? Let me get my leash. Laze around on the couch? I'm already snoring. Even though I love to play and explore, I am not super high energy, and I am fairly independent. I think I would fit in with almost any family. I love my foster mom's two kids and greet them by wagging my tail and coming over for some loving. I am not one to jump up on your lap uninvited, but happy to sit with you as long as you'll rub my ... (Read More)tummy or scratch under my chin. I might seem a little shy at first, but it's only because I'm short and most of the world is pretty big. I'm a Border Terrier mix, and I am already spayed and microchipped. I need a quiet home to go through heartworm treatment because I am high heartworm positive, but don't worry--the kind people at K-9 Angels will take care of that. I am a really good girl who is curious, friendly, and affectionate. I love to meet new dogs, and I get along with all of them so far. I like to run with the big dogs at my foster family's house, and I love to play tug of war and keep away with the smaller dogs here. I also like snuggling up to them and sleeping on the couch. The only mischief I'm guilty of is stealing laundry fresh from the dryer to snuggle up in. I am quiet and never bark unless I see the two things that alarm me: the cat and that scary monster in the mirror -- what IS that thing?! My foster mom protected me though by she covering up the mirror with a towel, whew! Since I'm sort of afraid of the cat, I do not bother her at all; I just lay down and watch her from a distance. I am still working on housetraining and for now I like sleeping in my crate and can reliably wait until you get home from your errands or while you are sleeping. When my foster family is home and can let me out every few hours, I never have any accidents so I bet I will get the hang of this house-training thing during my quiet days of heartworm treatment. I really hope you will come see me at the adoption center this weekend -- I'd really love to find my forever family soon! Little Debbie is around 2 yrs old and about 11 lbs. | PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Terrier in Texas | |||||||||
Border Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. Border Terriers are spunky, lively little dogs. They are eager to please and very friendly. Border Terriers get along with children, other dogs, and will do okay with cats if they are raised alongside them from the time they are puppies. Border Terriers cannot be trusted with other small animals or unfamiliar cats. Border Terriers need a lot of attention and should not be left alone for long periods of time. If they need to be left alone during the day, it is helpful to have two Border Terriers, especially if one is male and one female. Fences should be reinforced at the base because Border Terriers are enthusiastic diggers. Border Terriers do fine living in an apartment or somewhere with a small yard, as long as they get enough exercise.
