This little girl is a wire haired terrier which looks mainly like a border terrier with maybe some cairn terrier in her as well. She came in with her sister and they were both found together as strays in Arizona. She is black and tan and her name is Meili. She is quite frightened right now, but seems to be warming up to us. We think she will need a little TLC and some good solid affection and caring and she will make a great companion. She was brought in to us on a Dog is My Copilot flight on Halloween day from the Arizona shelter who picked her up as a stray. They were overloaded and decided to send this cutie north! She will be altered on ... (Read More)Friday and will be available for adoption on Saturday or Sunday if all is going well with the shyness and the surgery. If interested, please fill out an application from our website and we will set up an appointment for adoption. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Border Terrier in Montana
Border Terrier Dogs can make good pets in Montana if they match your IifestyIe. Border Terriers are spunky, lively little dogs. They are eager to please and very friendly. Border Terriers get along with children, other dogs, and will do okay with cats if they are raised alongside them from the time they are puppies. Border Terriers cannot be trusted with other small animals or unfamiliar cats. Border Terriers need a lot of attention and should not be left alone for long periods of time. If they need to be left alone during the day, it is helpful to have two Border Terriers, especially if one is male and one female. Fences should be reinforced at the base because Border Terriers are enthusiastic diggers. Border Terriers do fine living in an apartment or somewhere with a small yard, as long as they get enough exercise.
